“I hope that it will help people who are struggling with COVID- 19, and hopefully everyone can return to a healthy life as soon as possible.”

Seems Bionics CEO Yim Shin-gyo dreams of a society that comes together. He values corporate responsibility and believes in giving back to society. To that end, Yim is reaching out to help people all across Korea.Yim, whose company is based in Suwon, recently donated two tons of slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water to the city government of Daegu, a place having a particularly hard time with COVID-19. In addition, the company supported the installation of its own slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water generator (also known as a Vi-trap) at Goyang Pleasant Independent Living Center for the Disabled, Dangjin St. Mary's Hospital, Suwon Yeongtong-gu Office, and Suwon Deltaplex Management Office. The total value of these donations is about 10 million Korean won.

Yim said, “The slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water is excellent for its sterilizing and disinfecting power, so it is especially good at preventing the penetration of COVID-19 and various bacteria. This way, we are participating in corporate social return in times of national crisis. All the donations originated from a small relationship. Yim explained, “I got to know the Center for the Disabled through acquaintances. I hope that people with disabilities, who already face considerable social disadvantages, and those who volunteer at the center will be safe and healthy.” Yim continued, saying, "I am most proud when I hear that a donation was used where it was needed. I heard that Yeongtong-gu Office is providing one liter of the Vi-trap-generated disinfectant every week to all kindergartens in the building.” He added, “I am very glad to hear that a small donation from our employees can help so many people.”

The donation from Yim, with added contributions from over 40 Seems Bionics employees, lasted for quite a long time. Many also actively participated in volunteer service. The executives and employees have being volunteering each year since 2016, particularly on behalf of the Happy Food Tea of Love, a program overseen by the Suwon Gwonseon-gu Office. In addition, since 2015, volunteers have been providing 3-5 million won annually to assist disabled centers, elderly individuals living alone, and single-parent households.

The foundation of this sharing was the strong trust employees share as well as Yim's own philosophy. Yim said, “The reason we have been recognized in Japan and China as a company specializing in slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water for many years is because we had employees who worked hard to improve our company quality and technology. During times of difficulty, without my employees and their dedication, I would have failed.”

“To prevent COVID-19 infections, if many people can use our products with confidence, we will continue to donate,” Yim said. “I want to create a world where we can continue to share and live together with help from responsible corporate management, even after COVID-19 is gone.” Goyang; reporters Yoo Je-won and Kim Min-seo
